To preface; this very well may have been written up before. i didnt see it in the search but i just glanced.
so admin, please feel free to kill this if its been done.

with that out of the way,

Some of you know, i just bought a new mustang.
now i know what i want, so i asked the dealer specifically not to place a sticker on my car with their name.
they agree, no problem.
i go to pick the car up and what do you know, a big ole' HERITAGE FORD LINCOLN MERCURY sticker on the rear end.

i did some thinkin' and decided it wouldnt be hard to remove.

WHAT YOU NEED
-heat gun/hair dryer (optional)
-WD-40
-goo gone OR a rubbing compound
-terry cloth
-plastic scraper/lifter (DO NOT USE A RAZOR)

STEP ONE
now i will tell you, if you have a heat gun or hair dryer with an extension cord to get to your car, this will be even easier than it already is but its totally optional.
if you do want to go that option:

QUOTE
use the heat gun on the decal to get it hot while avoiding keeping it pointed in one place at one time (for your paint's sake.)

STEP TWO
if you're not using a heat gun, start here.

QUOTE
if you are not heating, begin spraying the decal with WD 40 as you rub with a terry cloth. this will loosen up the decal and make it easier to remove. with the decal heated (or wd40 scrubbed), begin using your fingernail/plastic scraper to remove the decal itself. this applies to both types of decals (one piece stickers OR individual letter stickers).
this will be easier if the decal was heated or if it is just very warm outside than if its cool.

STEP THREE
Now you're left with the residue behind which is the "hard part"

QUOTE
begin rubbing the residue in repetitive circles (wax on, wax off) with a terry cloth and your choice of product ('goo gone' or rubbing compound)

this will take 10 mins. or so.

STEP FOUR
once all the residue appears to be gone, clean off with a dry terry cloth. repeat step three if necessary.

QUOTE
now that the decal has been removed, a coat of wax does wonders for the paint wear difference.
if you're paint wear is more severe, consider minuscule amounts of bondo and touch up paint to compensate.

and you're done!

i need some help.

my jvc headunit stopped working when a friend of mine decided he'd hook up my new subs for me.

naturally, he had no idea what was wrong but the unit just acts as of it's getting no get power, all it does is eject.

the first thing i assume is there is a problem with the unit, so i bought a new one. i was in the market anyway but i just went ahead and bought a DUAL head unit with a 2.5" screen, preamp outs and all that jazz.

it's all hooked up right, at least from the harness to the unit itself (i've done PLENTY)

but it's acting the same as the jvc, no response other than the eject button, which will not only open access to the cd slot but close it with a second press as well.

any ideas on what could be wrong?

ANY information would be helpful.

Thanks,
-Adam

hey everyone,
i picked up a new muffler from flowmaster and i was just wondering what, in your opinions, is the best way to have it installed.
in other words, what to ask for at the shop.

thanks
