Question for you guys who are into home entertainment/TV/stereos..

I'm setting up a home theater in my basement with a ceiling mounted projector and I want to be able to watch plain old cable TV on it, so I need some sort of TV receiver or tuner. All I want is something that I can plug a coax cable into and get an S-video and RCA outputs and a remote to change the channels. Everything I can find like that is a TV tuner card for a computer, I'm trying to keep the computer out of this setup though.

Ideas?

Alrighty.. for all you subwoofer guru's out there. Its easy to find out what gauge of wire to run from the battery to the amp.. but what gauge wire should be run from the amp to the subwoofer itself? Say for a 300 watt amp going to a 10" single voice coil sub @ 4 ohms.. I bought a kit and it looks like it has pretty much plain jane speaker wire in there for it, say 18 gauge or so.. is that enough?

I've got a 10" alpine type S sub that I had in my old truck, and I'm really not sure if its blown or not. Its in a small sealed box, and if I turn up the bass a little bit every time it hits I'll hear a vibrating noise like something is loose or shaking, but I pulled it all apart and out of the box and I couldn't find anything.. If I put anything on the cone itself to muffle the vibration it'll stop. I never noticed it a whole lot in my S10 because the space behind the drivers seat where it was mounted was so tight the seat back was touching the cone of the sub which would stop it from happening.

Ideas on how to fix it, or if its junk?

This may seem like a really weird request, but since I know there are more than a few of you around the chicago area hopefully someone will know.

Are there any truck stops in or around Joliet that have showers? I'm going to be camping at a track all weekend and I just found out they don't have any showers there..

Hopefully some of you sound guys will have an idea on this..

I've got one 10" Alpine type S subwoofer & amp in my truck, running it @ 2 ohms in a q-logic sealed box. I've only had it in there for a month or so, and up until a few days ago it sounded great. Now its sounding like something is rattling or loose. I've pulled it all apart a couple times to see if I could find anything touching the back or sides of the speaker hole and I couldn't find anything. If I put my hands on the rubber surround around the cone the rattling damn near stops.

Any ideas on how to fix it, or did I blow the SOB already? I didn't even have it cranked up that loud when it happened, the only thing I can think of that was different the day it started was it was about -20 and my truck sat outside all day..
