My English is-int good when it comes to cars, here goes..

My friend was driving on long travel road around 60mph and then he starts to rev up and loosing power to the wheels and its like it change into neutral, when i got the the car i hear this extra sound under the hood and its like a fast ticking sound in the transmission, now when i rev up the car only the rpm moves and not the mph, when i change from park to drive and neutral the rpm revs up like its changing gears but does not get any power to the wheels like there is something in the middle of the transmission cut off,

Anyone with a transmission knowledge please share you expertise

Definitely sounds like something wrong with the input shaft or something else floating around the main transmission housing being slapped by the input shaft gears. Were you in gear or park for that?

I was in park, the ticking sound is always on even if i change to gear.

That's the EXACT sound my car made when I turned it on. It's a bad transmission, which means you'll need a complete rebuilt done. You'll have to purchase a new rebuilt and give them your bad one.

Good and bad to know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) .
