Ok, so I've looked through just about every thread on this site and I haven't found my specific problem. Whenever I make a left turn (not necessarily fast) over uneven pavement at an intersection, I hear a really really loud clunking sound that sounds like it's coming from the rear. It's happened for quite a while now, and I just want to fix it. I also notice a little bit of squeaking when I get in the car (not sure if it's related).
I don't know if it's the struts or the sway bars or what part of the suspension, but if any of you could give me any ideas of what it might be or what to check, I'd appreciate it. |

Try checking your end links on the sway bar, you probably just broke one. Their a piece of cake to replace and I think the last time I bought one I paid about $28 from the dealer.

I would say sway bar links too...I've had mine replaced twice in the past 2 years. They seem to go really fast.
As for the squeeking when you get in, mine does that too...and I would say it's not at all related to the sway bar link. I'm also going to rule out the stock suspension, because mine has all been changed and it still sqwueeks everytime I get in. So I'm cluless, but it doesn't cause any problems that I've seen yet. So you might just have to deal with it like I do. (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

yeah i'd say definatley the sway bar end links. That happened in my Grand Am when I took a hard left turn one day. It sounded like I hit a huge boulder in the road.

one note I'd like to add on this. make sure you call Mitsubishi dealer when you order this part. its 1/2 the price there compared to dodge dealership. FYI
dodge: Rear 21 - Link MR333762 $37.70 Notes Right 16 - With R/T MR325256 $58.50 Notes Left 16 - With R/T MR325255 $58.50 Notes Mitsu: Rear Suspension 18 - Link MR333762 $17.02 Notes same part # even |

Get the link from Mitsu deffinatly, hell get any part from them if its a interchange part with the 3G. Dodge is way too high.
I have been giving alot of thought into custom fabing some sway bar endlinks for the R/T/3Gs as I know alot of people have problems with the stock ones. I'll keep you posted. |
