Online showfield registration is up and running for the 2011 Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals, held on July 8-10, 2011 in Carlisle, PA.

Showfield registration is normally $50. If you register before June 6, 2001, it's $40 (you save $10.) If you register before January 1, 2011, it's $35 (you save $15.)

If you are looking to attend, but not be on the showfield, a 4-day pass is $30. A single day pass is $10. Parking is on top of that.

If you and a friend are looking to go to this show, it's cheaper and more convenient to register for the showfield - parking is included and you can park with the group - provided, of course, it's a Mopar or Mopar-related vehicle (this DOES include Mitsubishi, Mercedes, and a few other makes, too.)

We'll be working with Allpar again this year - so make sure you put down ALLPAR as your club when you pre-register for the showfield.

We are working on lodging options and will post when they are solidified.

Hope to see you there!

The Chrysler Employee Motorsports Association is holding it's 21st annual car show in Auburn Hills, MI on Saturday, June 12th at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum.

While CEMA is hosting the show - ALL makes and models are welcome to participate. Allpar is sponsoring the show, and details can be found at http://www.allpar.com/i/meets/CEMA/2010.html - one of the things planned is a guided tour of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum on Saturday afternoon.

If you do decide to participate in the show, follow the link above and please note "Allpar" as your club affiliation.

I'll be there - is anyone else interested in attending?

This is an all-suite hotel with the following amenities:
  • Each suite features a spacious living & sleeping area.
  • All suites are equipped with a sofabed, mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker & iron/board.
  • Indoor heated pool
  • 24 hour fitness center
  • Complimentary hot breakfast buffet
  • FREE business center
  • FREE hi-speed internet
  • FREE shuttle service can take you to many local area businesses and restaurants (Mon-Fri).
  • Located in the heart of Cantera which offers an array of restaurants, Super Target and an AMC Theatre (all within walking distance).

Our group has a rate of $84 per night. There are two room options - a single king bed with a sofabed or two double beds with a sofabed.

  • To make a reservation via phone, call 1-888-236-2427 or 1-630-393-0400.
  • The reservation code for the 2DBL suite is STRSTRA. (To book a 2DBL suite online, click HERE.)
  • The reservation code for the 1K suite is STRSTRB. (To book a 1K suite online, click HERE.)
  • The $84 group rate is for FRIDAY 5/14/10 and SATURDAY 5/15/10. If you stay before or after those dates, it's up to the hotel's discretion to honor the group rate for those other days.
  • All reservations at the group rate must be made by 04/23/2010. Reservations after 4/23/10 will be accepted on a rate/space availability basis if there are still rooms available in the block. Otherwise, prevailing rack rates will apply.
  • All reservations must be held with a credit card (which will not be charged up front, but MAY be 'pre-authorized' for the first night) or a first night+tax deposit.
  • Check-in time is 3:00PM Central, check-out time is 12:00 Noon Central.
  • We have an initial block of 25 rooms (15 kings and 10 doubles) held at this rate. More can be added if needed and if available.
  • Individual room cancellations may be made up to 48 hours before arrival. I must know if anyone is canceling a room - if we cancel more than 3, I will have to pay a cancellation fee. (Yes, I personally am on the hook here.)

SUGGESTION: All rooms offer a sofabed, which means the king rooms can sleep 4 and the 2DBL rooms can sleep 6. That can drop the per-night cost to as low as $14/night before taxes. Something to consider.

There are 3 days left to snag a room at the group rate.

If you are attending, list yourself. I need to get a head count and trophy orders in this week.

Just got word that Beckey (Burke) Henry - "stratusfied" here and "Stratusfied30" on Stratusphere - passed away 7/21/09.
I don't have all the details yet, but do want to offer my condolences to her and her family.

So, I decide to check out the live beta of 1 vs 100 on Xbox Live last Friday.

Now, you can have four people on your 360 playing at once, or - if it's just you - you get 'paired up' with 3 other people playing elsewhere. Not sure how it works, if it's 1:1 or if your 'group' equals one of the 100 or what, but anyway...

There's a guy on my 'team.' He's the only other person using a headset. And he's played this alot - his lifetime score is over 900000 points (in this evening of playing, I have around 120000 points, just for reference.)

The trouble is - every word out of the guys mouth is offensive. He mad because other people get questions wrong. He gets mad when "the One" gets a question wrong. He gets mad at everyone else when he "hits the wrong button" or blows a question himself.

Everyone was a "fucking nigger" or a "fucking jew." Except, of course, for the lone female in our group. She, of course, was a "fucking cunt." And when she blew a question, I got to hear about all the lovely things he felt he needed to do to her. I got to hear this for a good 20-30 minutes straight. Literally, the guy said each term at least 50 times. And for those of you with a 360, you know that I can't just unplug the headset, because then the audio comes out of the speakers - and with my 8-year-old in the room, that wasn't happening.

Finally, I'm just about ready to tell this guy that if no one can live to his standards maybe he should just quit playing, or suggest mute his mic, or just tell him to shut the hell up, when this very "Napoleon Dynamite" event happens:

"Are you making a sandwich?"
"I said, are you making a fucking sandwich?"
"Because I want one, too - you dumbfuck!"
"Hell yeah I want mayonnaise on my sandwich...never mind I'll fucking do it myself!"

** click **

I will be so happy when I can selectively mute other players.

On the other hand, it was a pretty fun time playing.
