You can swap a manual transmission in. 01-05 Stratus Coupes and 00-05 Mitsubishi Eclipses share the same transmissions. Just make sure you get one that came off the same engine you have.

Youll have to do a little digging around here but... from what I recall the Stealth/3000gt motor sits 180* compared to the one in the Stratus/ Eclipse. I dont believe Ive ever remembered anyone taking the heads from thr DOHC 6G72 and putting them on the SOHC 6g72. Swapping in the 6G75 from the 06+ Eclipse was popular. The 6G74 was popular for a time too.

I have never heard of this mod... But expect to be in the 17-18 sec range if 1/4 mile. It is fun though.

They do not work. Your computer will compensate for anything they try to trick it into doing. Dont waste your money.

Had it towed to a Mitsubishi dealership found out it indeed jumped time and my home town shops are a bunch of dumb @$$e$ cost me 2300 for full rebuild will update when I pick it up next week. Very interested in colaberating with members for mods.

Now not to take thunder from this site since it was the place to be back in the day (and I got temp-banned a few times on other forums for sending people here) but the facebook page is more active currently. This site is a gold mine for troubleshooting and mod ideas though.

Daes,
I understand this to be older post however, I've a similar issue. Have 2002 Galant ES-V6 equipped with F4A51 2F-ZB, which has become defective.
Can transmission from 2004 Sebring 3.0 V6 with F4A51 (non auto-stick), be installed in the 2002 Galant without any issue / modifications (trans control unit, different bolt patterns, speed sensor issues etc.)? Would it be "plug and play" so to speak?
Also, is there a difference in gear ratios between the two?
Your time and assistance is appreciated.

Im not Daes, but... yes the transmissions are all the same. If it had an F4A51, it can be either strictly auto, or auto stick. Its all in the computer.

Clogged catalytic converter will put out a certain odor. Fuel injectors will (should) throw a check engine light.

Is the check engine light on? Does it come on for a few seconds when you turn the car on at least? If not I would get the codes scanned. The light should come on when you start the car so you know its working.

Where does it leak from? Having the cap on probably creates a vacuum and wont let the coolant flow through easily. Take the cap off and no more vacuum and free flowing.

Hi, i was searching on internet the fog light for my stratus, but is almost impossible yo find them, if i can't it, i would like to install the black plastic that cover the hole and make an custom light. Hope if someone could help me. Thank you..

Your best bet is ebay or a junkyard. I highly doubt the dealer would carry a part like that still.

Im not really sure why the 04 is acting up. Could be a vacuum leak or a sensor that came unplugged.

As for the 01 youre looking at that runs but wont drive... Ill assume its an automatic and if so Im 95% sure the transmission is bad. There is a part called a wave springs that likes to break and ruin the transmission. There is an upgraded part for it, but you have to fix it before the other breaks. If it breaks its not worth the money to fix the transmission, it needs replaced. (info based on my experience on the forums over the years)

OBD2 scanners have really come down in price, might be time to invest in one. If thats not an option, i believe autozone or advance auto will loan one out for free with a deposit.

It could be a vacuum line broken or a fuel pump issue. Might want to do a fuel pressure check.

Service Manual if you dont have it

Welcome. I think youre one of the first Ive seen on the Facebook page that has actually made their way to the site that has all the information. This place is slow these days, but still has a ton of great info. Check out club3g.com as well in case you run into something that isnt covered here.

I did some research and it looks like there is a Coupe version of this bumper cover : http://www.carid.com/2005-dodge-stratus-bu...er-9947567.html

It says: Replaces OE # MR990729, MI1000284S Only. Need to verify the OE number on the stock Coupe bumper

That is the correct bumper cover for the 03-05 Coupe. I should have specified the 01/02 bumper is the one thats really hard to find haha

There are companies that manufacture OE quality replacement parts for Stratus like Dorman and Replace. They are pretty cheap in compare to original Chrysler replacements, but the quality is pretty much the same.

It looks like they only make them for the sedan currently. If they could make the one for the coupe for under $100 like the sedan they would sell like hot cakes. Its one of the hardest parts to find used.

Youre looking for an EGR solenoid for a DOHC 2.4 but under your screen name it says you own a coupe. The coupe has a SOHC 2.4. Which is it?

I believe theyre swappable. Pull the gauge cluster surround straight back towards you to undo clips, then there are 4 screws holding the gauge cluster to the car. The bulbs plug right into the back of it.
