First, What are you trying to play? Things that came out 2 years ago, or things that are coming out in 2 years?

Second, Are you confident in assembling your own machine and how much are you willing to spend?

Without any jargon and with respect to my first question: This will run Modern Warfare 2 max settings. It will struggle with Diablo 3 above Medium / High (No Shadows). It will barely run Max Payne 3 at low settings.

I'd guess that machine was built sometime in 2010ish (or earlier with a graphics card update). The phenom 955 was a good processor, slightly behind or inline with an Intel i5-750 depending on which fanboy slant you take. The biggest glaring bump is that 4GB of Ram is pretty dated, and that MOBO should support up to 16 (Google it?). Most gaming machines now have a minimum of 8. Mid range machines run 16; Even my laptop has 16. It's got a good storage drive in it, but if you're looking for performance you'd want SSD. The 6000 series ATI came out end of 2010ish, it's a nice card that runs cool Almost every component here is discontinued by 1 - 3 generations of successor. Once again, consider your goal: What are you trying to play?

I was able to put together a similar shopping cart with the parts that replaced those by one generation on NewEgg for $529 plus shipping.

Look at something like this combo for $785, it's much more 2012: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleD...t=Combo.1043154

We've had it since about August. It's an 08 Bullitt.

Still have my 72 as well, got a Cleveland all built for it sitting on a stand, and the wife is driving an Equinox. You know how I shuffle cars man (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

The guy that bought my 4 promptly wrapped it around a tree

I gave my Stratus to a friend that was down on his luck, he slid it into a pole in an ice storm. It's still running, but it looks pretty busted now.

I don't know i think you should have waited for the ZL1!!haha but you probably got a great deal on the 11 since the 12's will be rolling out anyways!! I like the Camaro except they didn't quite make it for tall people cause i had horrible headroom when i sat in it and adjusted everything to the way i like to sit. The challenger by far is a car made for big people, just wish it got better mpg but o'well can't have everything! Looks great though!!

This is a DD. Keep in mind, I have way faster projects than what a stock ZL1 runs in the 1/4. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I thought you would have bought a GTR by now 2k2. Still glad to see that you got something nice for yourself. I just cant get over the fact of how unfinished the rear bumper looks with the exhaust on this car. Maybe ad the mid cycle refresh they will remedy that.

Could obviously afford one, I've been very disappointed in their consistency, quality control, and maintenance procedures.

I have no interest buying a car that you can't launch, the brakes fade after 5000 miles, have to adjust the transmission electronically with a dealer tool, and fluid services cost $1400 and can only be performed by a dealer. If you sneeze during the break in period and your car goes over 3000 RPM your warranty is voided.

I checked insurance for non-daily use, I could maintain a Ferrari F430 cheaper than I could a GTR, and I would much, much rather have a ZR1 or ACR than either of those.

My Camaro is a daily driver. I have another plan in the works to replace the truck with a new toy.

I completely missed this thread, but noticed you posted this pic on FB. The truck was a beaut, but at least you replaced it with another fun, fast toy. The 5th gen Camaro's had a meet on the Dragon this weekend, there were a few exahaust notes that were heavenly; Im sure you wont slack on that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Still have the Challenger right?

No Dan, the Challenger is gone as well, traded it on Ashley's new SUV. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It was a great car, and I would recommend one in a heartbeat for lots of good reasons, but it has come time to move on to other projects. As you know, I hardly ever keep anything more than 3-4 years, and I really like the Camaro. The Truck was an exception that stood the test of time... I had her for 6 and loved every minute of it.

I've got something else planned in the next year that will be drop top (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Edit: You're right, I won't slack. I already have a lot of parts picked out for this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I would say sidegrade, but yeah. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

My truck was faster, but this thing is fun thus far.

sweet car! did you get the black stripes on it?
and just curious, what kind of mpg did you get on the srt10? with that big of an engine i can only imagine..like maybe 10miles to the gallon would be my guess

Yeah man, it's got black stripes. You can kinda see them on the cowl in the top pic, but my cell phone camera sucks.

Here's a front pic my wife took:

(IMG:http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/283118_890521954933_23206835_41647555_2365388_n.jpg)

My SRT10 was highly modified and was a recreational driven vehicle only. When it was stock I got 9-12 MPG out of the SRT10. My Camaro has 147 on it right now, and I'm averaging 27 MPG with the 6 speed.

Thanks guys,i put it up for sale on ksl this week and have had some interest. I had a kid look at it last night and have two this weekend. I listed it for $6k and the person last night sayed bank would only aprove him for a little over $5. As for $4,000 not interested, i know these cars dont hold value but you alone should know how much time and money i have into this, the dealer was going to give me $3,700 for trade in.

I know exactly how little these cars are worth. GLWS. Cash in hand (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Yeah, you're sharp. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Wrong answer...apparently the movie can't be good if it's not 100% reproducible in your backyard with a sony handycam and a ladder. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

A few notes, because I know some of the guys who were involved in working on the movie from being around the Challenger scene... The BDS 70 actually had a 350 chevy crate in it with a dummy blower. Universal and VAM are offering it for sale for a cool 130gs. http://volocars.com/1970-dodge-charger-rt-c-2077.htm

The sound for all the mopars was actually supplied by... surprise... a blown mopar. It came from a 2009 6.1 kenne bell car who is a regular over at challengertalk. They used his exhaust sound for the Chargers, and the sound of his blower for the hero 70.

(IMG:http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/lowwlife1/Dash%20install%20and%20final%20weldin%20g/Five%20five%20movie-%20Taping%20sound/Image11092010085914-1.jpg)

(IMG:http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/lowwlife1/Dash%20install%20and%20final%20weldin%20g/Five%20five%20movie-%20Taping%20sound/Image11092010081406.jpg)

(IMG:http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc514/lowwlife1/Dash%20install%20and%20final%20weldin%20g/Five%20five%20movie-%20Taping%20sound/Image11092010092055-1.jpg)

The "hero" car that gets raped by the Gurkha was a 392 car... so yes, a destroyed Charger but not a 426.

The Challenger at the end is a real SRT built by CDC, and is a Vortech car that puts down well over 600.

(IMG:http://fancytuning.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/cdc-dodge-challenger-1.jpg)

Yes, it's fiction. Get the fuck over it, I will say however my favorite part in the movie is when the 2011 Charger RTs they stole magically become 2009 AWD SRTs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well feel fortunate you didnt run into someone else!!! Are you an idiot? yes, do i blame you for your decision? hell no...Ik how life goes man. I definitely feel your pain. I made a horrible decision regarding insurance little over a year ago. I was having hard times, did lot of repairs, needed to pay for the parts and materials, funds were tight, so i dropped my full coverage on my R/T to basic liability. This was to save me little money each month and help me out for time being. One week before this decision the car had just came out of the booth wearing fresh paint. One month prior to this decision i installed stage II clutch, distributor, wires, plugs, brakes, exhaust, intake, battery, tires.....Here come the best part......Exactly one week after i dropped the full coverage i hit black ice, went into ravine, the car rolled multiple times, i was ejected and knocked unconscious. While being unconscious the car caught fire and burnt completely to the ground......I got absolutely nothing for the car, absolutely no salvagable parts, and am currently 14 months later still making payments on it as full coverage would have paid the remainder of the loan...... So get that insurance soon as you get $$$$ don't risk it any longer than you have to. Lucky for you, you still have the car, in usable form....mines just a pile of rust and burnt rubble sitting in my trees out back. Take it from me, i unfortunately learned the worst way you can, the absolute hard way!!!!! I'm currently piecing another wrecked R/T 2gether i picked up cheap to replace her....but still only have little funds to do that, while still paying off the destroyed one....

What car insurance company and state dropped you to liability only on a car with a lien still active?
