I got my hands on a decent 2003 Stratus RT, which, after driving family cars for 20 years, is a whole lot of fun. It was suspiciously cheap ($900), so I figured there had to be something terribly wrong with it, and it seems the torque converter is the issue; it shakes in the lower part of 2nd & 3rd. So, I'm trying to decide whether to drop a couple of grand on it or just get a different car, as I prefer manual transmissions in sports cars.

Question: can I swap a manual tranny into this, or is there a way to get the torque converter from slipping?

You can swap a manual transmission in. 01-05 Stratus Coupes and 00-05 Mitsubishi Eclipses share the same transmissions. Just make sure you get one that came off the same engine you have.
