Its hard to believe that this:
(IMG:http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k100/Bekistan20/2013-02-06123715_zps08918af8.jpg)

Is worth roughly this:
(IMG:http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k100/Bekistan20/CarValueFeb2013_zps6baca7b5.jpg)

I imagine the R/T is worth a bit more, but I cant imagine by much. There is no way I would be able to find a car that looked this clean and that was so reliable for under $1000. Its sad really (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Needless to say, Ill be hanging onto it until the parts become obsolete or scrap metal prices skyrocket.

Just playing on KBB today and thought I'd share (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

GET A MUFFLER DELETE!
There's absolutely no reason you should be wasting money on some brand name or even an eBay muffler on these cars. Both the i4 and v6 sound great with just a muffler delete.

*edit - this is coming from someone that has heard both in person.

Honest question here.... I have no doubt that it sounds good at idle. How well does it sound at high rpm? I've heard an R/T with a straight pipe but never an SE.

This time last year my 02 RT was only worth about $2000.00 with 130K miles on it. It needed more then that in repair work so I traded it in on the G and wouldn't sign the papers until they agreed to give me exactly $2000.00 for it. They disliked me after that sale but I was happy leaving in my G35 lol

Just because you have aftermarket parts doesn't mean the price increases. It actually decreases it most of the time.

Now back to the topic, it's crazy how low the resale value is on these cars, but it works for me since I really want to get back into one soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

All I see here is good reason to keep the car and continue maintaining it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Fixed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Changing the oil tomorrow, and Im in the middle of rebuilding the rear brakes right now. When i did my conversion from drums to discs, i cheaped out and used all the stuff I got from the parts car. Even though I disassembled everything, I should have replaced some things but didnt. I also used a grease that wasnt for the application. 5 years later Im older and wiser and am doing things as I should have originally. When I went to check the parking brake pads, I played hell trying to remove the pins. The grease i used dried out and absorbed moisture, and the calipers werent sliding at all.

Replacing:
Brake Pads
Parking brake pads
New seals
New guide and lock pins
New pin boots
New bleeders
Since everything was disassembled and I can powder coat, I blasted the calipers and coated them. Front were done a few months ago due to a small leak so now braking should be as it should with all discs.

Sounds like fun!

I wish that I could do with out my calipers to have them powder coated lol. I think ill just paint them soon when I do the brakes.

I'm going to do brakes and install the coil overs all at the same time since the wheels will already be off for both. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Should be a fun weekend project.

Not that I ever thought they'd be worth anything but sad to see how much they depreciated over the years do to many factors. One of these days for any hardcore 2G'rs out there I'll throw some NOS parts on ebay for everyone to have a free for all.

I bought my 2g two months ago on craigslist, it was crazy how I was still pretty significantly over KBB after knocking the guy down to under half his asking price.

When I was selling my 95 Stratus SE a few years ago it was worth like $500 or something stupid. 160k miles and still ran great. Biggest problem was all the rocker panel rust that was common with the 1g cloud cars. I ended up selling it for my asking price which was $1000. Sold in two days. I had people asking me why I was selling it so cheap. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
