Working on the strat, trying to button up a rebuild and finish with a clutch; i came into a problem where the TOB/Realease Bearing is forced disengaged when the pressure plate is torqued down (doesnt even need to be all the way to see this undesired effect.
This causes a whole lot of cascading issues attempting to bolt the rest of the setup together (IF it were bolted, the TOB would be at max released travel and would force the diaphragm springs against it, all the way against the transmission.
After going over all the motions (with the exception of checking the old clutch, which is entirely my fault), and trying to search the scribbles on the flywheel, and reading on here/following others advice for flywheel clutch, i quickly realized what i have looks exactly like the lightened aftermarket flywheels.
For the life of me i cant find an image for what a stock '02 stratus rt (3.0l engine) should have had on it. My manual shows what looks to be a single peice FW, and this is clearly not.
Also i never had to remove any sort of adapter plate (the overglorified washer on the flywheel) when i originally took it apart to check it all out for defects.
Can anyone confirm pn's, or just by looking if this is indeed an eclipse/2.4l flywheel? - this would explain so many of my issues.
For funzies i even took of my 4g63 flywheel/Pressure Plate/clutch to compare sizes and the pressure plate for the evo (old/not reuseable) slid onto the flywheel with the new clutch disc installed LIKE FUCKING BUTTER IN A MICROWAVE.
Obviously im pleased to (likely) need to order another clutch kit! NOT. But regardless, i still gotta know if im seeing what i believe im seeing.
