programming my computer, hardware building and upgrading of networks and desktop computer systems. I also love to play with my strat. I have already modded the suspension system with new struts and brakes. I love street racing, and showing off with my sunroof hinged up, cruising around town. Here in Germany, my strat might as well be a Viper since it seems to be rare around here!

Heya, all. I was wondering if anyone here has swapped their motor mount bushings on their 3.0L yet? I was looking at mine, and a friend of mine also has a 3.0L in his eclipse GTS and his bushings are going out too. One way i know this is the added play in the engine bay when the engine is torqued or when slipping the clutch in reverse/forward with the e-brake on. When we took a look at the bushings in the mounts, they looked all torn up. One is about ready to blow on mine, it looks like. I'll post a pic of the front curbside mount (the only once you can 'really' see with little trouble).

also, if anyone HAS replaced them, where's a good website to buy some poly ones? I really don't want to put the rubber ones back in if this is what they end up doing over time. and i heard that poly ones have more strength and durability to them, and they don't allow the engine to move as much as rubber, even when the rubber is new.

hello all. it seems that i have found myself at 2gstratus.com (and my new home for info about my stratus too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ) As i have read thru the threads, and across the internet, i have yet to find a place where it talks about gears not wanting to work. Quite namely, second gears, especially when cold (like 15C cold).

I am a newcommer to this area, so please, feel free to flame me and get the 'initiation' over with (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) .

but honestly though, this is a very big problem to me.

more info on my car and problem:

2002 Stratus R/T coupe
3.0L V-6 w/ 83K miles
5-spd manual tranny
new flywheel (less than 20K miles)
new clutch kit (less than 20K miles)
gear oil changed less than 3K miles ago

when cold, but sitting still, gears go in and out well. slightly stiff, but that's normal. Once rolling in 1st, i kick the clutch in to go to 2nd. as i shift, the shifter seems to stick right outside (in the neutral zone). it doesn't want to go in, but if forced and held for several second, it finally kicks down in.
3rd gear, no problem.
4 and 5th, no problem.

I'm thinking that this has something to do with the syncros, but i'm not sure, since i am not even close to a mechanic. I have done some molding and some light repairs by myself, but nothing that has to do with taking the tranny down and out, or more than taking the intake manifold off of the top for plug/wire changes.

If this is a prblem that direly needs attention, please let me know. i'm getting frustrated.
