Stock for now, just enjoying the ride for a bit until it starts to feel slow and boring, then we will see about some goodies.

Just gave her a first detail yesterday and boy did she need it. Previous owner leased her and never did shit. :irate:

In the next month or so I do definitely plan on a few items. It is so very tempting to go crazy as I live in the same town as Street Unit Performance who sells everything you could ever want for this car..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
- Test Pipe.
- Prosport Boot Gauge and Vent Pod
- Nite Shade the front and rear reflectors.
- Paint the plastic areas of side mirrors, foglight housings and exhaust area in a nice dark charcoal.
A slight drop may come further down the road, but we already have one lowered car in the house (miss SEXY) and I am enjoying not having to creep over lumps, humps and dips in the road. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

That's all I can think of for now on the to-do list. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

With that being said, say hello to "cherry" ( I know, so original :sarc:):

(IMG:http://i33.tinypic.com/jk93fd.jpg)

(IMG:http://i33.tinypic.com/do6pf4.jpg)
(IMG:http://i38.tinypic.com/6z5um0.jpg)

See that little dial? OMG, I can adjust my projectors and it blew my mind when I figured out what the dial was for. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
(IMG:http://i37.tinypic.com/qx858o.jpg)

Yay.

Not sure if I like the name Cherry, because it reminds me of the transvestite from Nip/Tuck.

Very nice car. Do those have AUX on the stock radio? Just curious. And I would assume the name comes from the paint color? Cherry Mica?? lol, I told you I did some research on those before.

Liz, you could start by getting a bigger intercooler and relocating it to the front of the car. It shouldn't be too expensive, and I am pretty sure you have more then enough room up there on the front.

I completely disagree. You are comparing two totally and completely different styles and levels of cars. I have always thought the 6 was one of the sexiest sedans out, since their debut in 2003.

Nope. I have 2 years left on the factory warranty and Mazda is very strict about modifications and warranties. I have already researched it, trust me. No, it's not that expensive and many speed owners have done it.
Honestly, nowt sure if I am looking to go all out with the Speed6. I like it in stock form. It's a nice and somewhat luxurious "family car" for Jeff and I. I can put the doggie in the backseat and cruise, too, now that I have 4 doors and no leather. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The interior is awesome. I have the sport model so it's black cloth with white stitching, I love it. Has factory Bose 6 speaker system with Bose sub in the rear shelf. Auto climate control, adjustable projectors, full stereo controls on the steering wheel, etc. I will get some interior pics up soon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You can disagree all you want, but my OPINION stands. It's a boring 4 door sedan, yes it has a turbo, but it doesn't compare looks to the strat or "Sexy" has to offer. I see 50 of these a day, yes most of them are just going to be the 3 model, and not the fancy 6speed, but you get my drift. It won't turn heads that's for sure. I know you probably envisioned it differently, but you know it falls in the style of mediocrity. Everyone has different goals, and you wanted a different car that can do what you want out of it. That's it.

Woah, go take some Midol.

My OPINION stands as well, that's why they are called opinions. Did I ever say it was a hot as the Stratus? No. Again, it's two totally different worlds between the cars so there is no comparison. The Stratus is a beautiful, custom, low riding coupe...the Speed6 is a sleek and mature sports sedan with an awesome ride and really impressive power.

You see 50 of what a day? You see 50 Mazdaspeed 6's a day? I hardly think so in BF Kansas as there were only about 15,000 produced in the US for the 2 years they were avaialble.....and what the hell does a "3 model" have to do with my MS6? Fancy 6 speed? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I never envisioned this car any different than what it is and I hardly feel that it is mediocre in any way.

Guess what? It doesn't matter, because I have Sexy AND the Grown up Evo to play with now. Don't hate. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/finger.gif)

I think you need to re-read what I wrote...

QUOTE

They both share the same exact body lines, or hell the same platform. I don't know. But they look exactly the same, minus trim level and engine.

I don't know how you thought my post came off hostel to warrant a "midol". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Yes they are 2 different class of cars, but still the 6speed follows the lines of mediocre design as I stated.

I never said you envisioned it differently when you come off to think I say you didn't like the car, I meant it as you envision it to what you wanted, and you got it.

I think you misinterpeted my post, but what ev, keep yo hata blokaz on.

I didn't say your car sucks, blah blah, blah. I am simply stating the looks are sub-par.

Put yo hatershades on!

Though your 2 door coupe looks better than the 4 door sedan, the Mazda 6(speed or not) would be my choice for a sedan. There is a Titanium 6 around here lowered and it looks fantastic. Theres also a silver one around with a bunch of visual stuff. Tons 'o aftermarket.

That is the last of my wishes for this car. I may end up doing these stockers in gunmetal and a small (very SLIGHT) drop at some point.

Honestly, I am just getting to know this car right now and enjoying the feeling of boost. It's a fun car, for sure.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Smartass.

I have a set of 17 inch aftermarket wheels and Sexy's stockers. The Speed6 comes stock with 18's so if I do eventually change WHEELS, it's not going to be a 17, obviously. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Not surprising about alot of owners doing it. I remember hearing about how they had issues with the design of the hood and the TMIC not getting enough airflow, causing lots of issues with heatsoak.

Nice looking car though, I've always liked both those and the Legacy GTs for that class of car. They way the newer LGTs look though, I think they have the upper hand at the moment. Rumor is that they're going to bring back the Speed6 soon after they bring out the new model of the Mazda6.

Yep, there is issues with the car running warmer than desired, especially if you are boosting all the time (which I don't plan to, this is the "family car" - she will get a few modest modifications and that's it.) Even the folks that have switched to a FMIC still experience hotter temps than they would like.

Ugh. I think the new 6 is fugly, looks like a Camry fucked an RX-8. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

$16,900 out the door.

How many miles does it have on it Liz? I found a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 Grand Touring with 15,491 miles on it and the dealership wants $23,987. It's a Mazda Certified vehicle and all that fun stuff.

Mine had 31k on the ODO. Not Mazda certified but has had a 100 point inspection, all recalls and TSB's performed after I got her. Mine is the Sport model, black cloth interior.

I did some research on Edmunds.com, kbb.com, and nada.com and $23,987 looks like a fair price for a Mazda Certified Pre-Owned Speed6 GT with the mileage this one has. I would love to do it, but my wife and I are looking at putting our son in daycare and it looks like that is going to be about the same as taking on another mortgage.

I have been thinking this over and I can pretty easily hold on the the Stratus for another year and save up some more money. I've been putting $250 a month aside in savings since its been paid off to save for a good down payment on the next car. All I need is a new set of tires before winter hits this year. My Traction T/A's have seen better days. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Re-treads FTW! I plan on getting some for the front this winter. $30 a piece isnt bad for mud slingers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Yep, there is issues with the car running warmer than desired, especially if you are boosting all the time (which I don't plan to, this is the "family car" - she will get a few modest modifications and that's it.) Even the folks that have switched to a FMIC still experience hotter temps than they would like.

Thats a good price...nice.

i, however, love the new 6, so i cant wait for the new Speed6, if there is one coming...

I love the new 6 also. I can't wait to see if they do a new Speed6. I think they would have to make it 300+ horsepower since the regular V6 for the 2009 has like 272.

We shall say, the BEST case scenario is that it gets a version of the EcoBoost V-6 thats going in the Fusion GT in 2012 with 340hp, however, that would mean we'd have to wait for a mid-life update, and that might be too long.

They could continue using the MZR 2.3L, but, they'd be better off using the EcoBoost 3.5L, or 2.5L EcoBoost, as its a more advanced, efficient motor.
