If your deadset of selling it soon then I wouldn't waste the money. Fix what's needed and save the money for modifying the next one. Unfortunately unless you find the right buyer, most people dont know what these cars are under the mopar skin so upgraded parts wont help the sale.

Whatcha mean by that? Because its mitsubishi? I think I'm gonna end up getting a miata, cheap and easy to find parts for, and they do great autocrossing =P

ok thanks for the heads up man, i will def. check out all this stuff this week before i run, for a slow poke car it handles curves great, ive always liked it for that, but before the next season starts i think i will be retiring the stratus in trade for something else, im planning on selling it in jan-feb. its been a good car but next year im going to autocross alot more and feel i have a better chance with a car i can modify fairly easily and cheap

also, ive been looking on autozone.com and they show they have energysuspension bushings, what size sway bar bushings do i need? any idea? its the special edition

Hey guys, I am going to autocross my 05 coupe (2.4) in a few weeks and Ive been really leery lately about my suspension, Ive been paying close attention to it when Ive been driving the past week and it feels like my struts may be going out? how much body roll are we supposed to have on coupes? i don't remember i being this much, although the suspension has been through some rough miles this past year, and im wondering if there is anything else i should check before i show up to this next event and potentially break something, if you know any checkpoints i should go through before then with anything regarding suspension/performance would be appreciated, I wanna autocross it but i don't wanna break the poor thing either... any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

There's nothing you can do to make it quicker that isn't going to cost you the price of a new car. So, you might as well just buy a new car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dunno.gif)

oh =( that makes me sad, i love my stratus, but it just doesnt give me my speed fix, i guess ill end up looking for something else in a few months, any suggestions? not into honda/acura, dodge is fine, ford chevy subaru nissan, mazda, probably around 5-10 grand im fresh outta high school and working and such, so i can make car payments, just not really high ones lol

I was wondering if it was possible to take an srt4 engine and put it in my sxt? my stratus is an '05, and they are both 2.4 im pretty sure, im not familiar with the srt4 that much though, and im just curious if it could be done without too much hardcore altering?

The sunroofs on these cars were a problem since day one. There were recalls on them, I had it done to my car twice. The first time they replaced the side rail and frame, and lubed them with special grease. The second time I didn't want them ripping the car apart again so I just had them greased and that worked fine. If the motor in you car is working and the roof is tring to epen, the side rails need to be greased to aid action. If the roof is not moving, but the motor is turning, the cables have snapped. It is not a fun system to play with if you are inexperienced with it, bet best is if it needs to be worked on by a shop, take it to a Mtsubichi dealership. They are MUCH more experienced because of all the Eclipses they worked on.
Somewhere on this site are pictures of the special grease they used in the recall, if I can find them I'll post them. The stuff is still available from Dodge. There is no aftermarket grease comparable to it

P.S. if you search "sunroof problems" you will find tons of threads on them.

ok cool, thank you =) and yeah, it must be snapped then, because the roof is not budging at all, not even trying. so i shouldnt try to fix this myself? and how much would this cost me if i had the dealership fix it? thanks for your help!

Yeah, I have the two-tone leather seats, but no chance of selling em, sorry (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I LOVE them, black on edge, silver-white color in middle, I chose my car over another SXT that was in Tenessee but it didnt have the two tone seats, and mine was in Georgia, but it had the two-tone seats, so I drove the extra 45 miles to get it. Wasnt much else different about the two cars, besides the seats.

Thanks man, and yeah, that would be a good idea, I'm just not sure of what rims I want, and is there anything I can do to the Engine? I wouldn't know, I'm more of a body guy, I can paint and repair bodys, but I'm not that experienced with the Mechanical aspects of cars. So if you have any ideas let me know.

Hey, I'm new here, just joined today because I saw a link to the website at a cardomain profile, I have a 2005 Stratus SXT Special Edition, it's my second car. I'm 17 my first car was a 1st Gen. Probe, and I love my Stratus, I think the first change I'm going to make to it is the paint job. I go to tech school for Collision Repair and I can paint it myself, I just need to decide on what color to paint it, I'm thinking Dark blue and making the middle part of the hood black, tell me what you think.
