Ya i guess you are correct, im just not use to running boost in I4 applications i guess. What compression will the motor have?

Just seems like so much psi lol. If i ran 22psi on my car it would be well over 600hp

not trying to be a dick or anything, but, you tinker with your boost on your 4.6 but cant seem to understand why he doesnt make as much power on his 2.4? My Srt4 runs 8.1:1 CR. I made 312whp on pump gas, no tune, in 107 degree weather at 17psi if it makes you feel better. (of course peak power shouldnt be the determining factor in how fast a car is)

QUOTE
You gotta remember, the compression in a domestic car is lower than a import car. That's why they gotta throw high boost in a i4 to make up the power.

actually. you throw boost at a I4 because of the lack of displacement. normally with boosted applications you want a lower compression ratio.

QUOTE
Here are a few pics. And I know the shifter boot is torn and the shifter is rusty, but thats what happens when it gets rained on for 4 years. The stuff out of the rain looks new. Oh, and I can shift it into each gear easily, thats a good thing right? And it spins freely, no binding or anything like that.

bah that just means you can by a Short throw for your car. as far as shifting, did you try shifting it before you took it out the car?

I'll definately do a liquid intercooler before I take out that crush bar. I just wouldn't feel safe if I took that thing out.

why not run water/meth injection? it reduces detonation and intake temps.

I'm tall.. but not that tall and can't shift and drive two cars at once. (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Oh.. and since I wouldn't let anyone else drive my cars..especially to race them.. guess that wont happen.. but I know the diff just from driving them.. the Stratus is odd.. cause it gets up and goes..quick.. but you dont feel it since it's FWD.  U look down and you're like "shit.. I'm doing 100"..whereas the GTO with RWD puts you back in the seat and you're like.. "shit yeah... I'm doing 100!" (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

actually i think thats due to your lack of Torque (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

the operator should have been able to adjust the dyno to fit whatever type of car would be using the dyno. so there should not be any limiting factor from the dyno itself if properly setup. you can change the numbers with the winpep file by changing the correction factor to increase/inflate the numbers also.

i honestly think more fuel could have been pulled looking at your AFR. but like i said he might have run out of time or simply left it rich uptop to help deter knock and prolong engine longevity.

see if the tuner that tuned your car will do if for free. it's not hard. or at least shouldnt be. they should have the gadget required to do it to. how many miles are on your car?

unless you get alot of snow and hence a lot of salt laid down on the ground you dont need stainless steel. i have an aluminized exhaust here in Tx and since they hardly ever salt the roads it doesnt have one ounce of rust on it over the past yr. all we get is rain mostly but hardly ever any snow. but if you wanna get SS then by all means go for it. just giving you my experiences.

best exhaust for NA would be probably no bigger than 2.25

no reason to go bigger.

best setup would be headers to a high flow cat then out the tailpipe. you can throw a muffler in before the tailpipe if you want to.

i believe 13.5 is good for a NA street car.

so looking at your graph if you lean it out up top you can pull more power. he may have left it that rich for engine safety and longevity reasons tho. of course a larger tb would help you out too. it would increase throttle response and airflow to your engine. effectively leaning your car out.

Why is your torque curve so peak more and sooner stock?  Slapping on that new turbo just gave you basically 1k rpm's w/ more power.

Above 5 grand you get more power but you got a 6400 rev limiter right?  Soon as it really starts to kick you have to shift! (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

EDIT:

I figured out why Greg. I feel so dumb. the stock dyno was done on a different dyno in 4th. the moddified and new turbo dyno's were done in 3rd. (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) i must have added the stock one after i loaded the other 2. since i had it set to RPM and not MPH speed i failed to realize the difference in gearing. good catch.

latest dyno:

(IMG:http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/7/web/2299000-2299999/2299723_48_full.jpg)

312whp and 287lbs
17psi on 93 pump in 96 degree weather.

green lines are stock

blue lines are basic boltons

red lines are new turbo

you can see my A/F is extremely rich. if i lean it out i can easily pull 350whp right now with out needing bigger injectors. you can also see the GT30 spools almost as quickly as my stocker.

Turbo is in. Set to 10lbs right now. i have s2 injectors currently installed which i think should be able to support up to 15-17psi. however, i am unable to find my freaking allen wrench for my MBC (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) so i'm stuck at 10 for the time being.

going out of town this weekend. then i might be able to do the fuel the following weekend after that.

gotta set of 650's, fuel rail, 255 fuel pump, and return line to install. DTEC is gonna control it all.

get a tune and hope for 350whp at 20psi on pump. i think i can do it.
