Sold it a couple weeks ago and picked up a 2003 Nissan Xterra SE to replace it. Since I've got the Xterra, my old Jeep will probably soon follow the GTO.

60k miles, 3.3L V6, 4x4, Automatics transmission, sunroof, Rockford Fosgate sound system, all the power interior stuff. Actually about as loaded as you can get an Xterra without getting the Supercharger package.

The Xterra actually gets worse gas mileage, although on regular gas. I was mostly tired of the impracticality of it. Had a tiny trunk, you had to be creative to get 2 golf bags in it. Back seat had loads of room, but it was a giant PITA to get into them. It was lowered, and tires are expensive, so I was spending most of every drive avoiding pot holes and being careful going over speed bumps and stuff. Plus the payments on it were almost twice what I'm paying for the Xterra.

The X is pretty much the opposite of the GTO. Loads of room inside, possibly more than I can really use. Pretty easy to get in and out of. Enough room for 4 comfortably, 5 if you squeeze, along with all of their golf bags, plus coolers of beer, and probably still some space left over. Big beefy tires, and suspension built to go offroad, so the ride is good enough, and I fear no pot hole. Heck, curbs aren't even an obstacle for it. My girlfriend was giving me crap the other day because I hopped a curb so I could skip half of the Wal-Mart parking lot. It's definitely a good bit slower. The weight probably isn't far off from the GTO, but I've gone from 4000lbs with 400hp and 400 lb/ft of torque, to something like 180hp and 200 lb/ft of torque. Of course that isn't that big of a thing in a vehicle built to go offroad, since it came with 4.90 gears, plus 4 Lo on the transfer case. I was also pretty happy to find that it has an old school manual transfer case, so no worries about a switch breaking on an electronic one. Although it does have automatic hubs on the front wheels, so I don't have to get out and lock them to put it in 4wd.

Sorry man, I would have, and looked over the website for your dealership a number of times, but you guys just didn't have anything I was interested in. All the Xterra's and 4Runners you had were either way too expensive, or weren't 4 wheel drive. I couldn't just sit and wait for you guys to get something I wanted.

NOOOOOOO!!!!! Xterras suck offroad, man. I had a friend with one...jacked up with a solid front axle swap...thing was a dog on the trail even with good tires. It looked good...full exoskeleton cage, ARB bull bar bumper, custom rear tire carrier...but it couldn't get out of its own way in the dirt. My stock at the time Jeep was driving circles around it.

I like X-Terras. Looks to be in great condition. Wash it and take some good pics!

I'm not planning on going anywhere hardcore, so I'm sure it will do well enough for what I want. I just need something with enough capability to get me and my gear back to some of the spots we go shooting. Pretty much all the trails I have nearby and can get easy access to are pretty light.
