I just realized the pictures I have in here are really old, and my car looks totally different now.

Damn there are so many nice cars on this site. I love the Strat!

Heres a few of mine taken the first week I got 'er. I'm waiting until spring to really start doing stuff.

Man, I really love the stratus' being black, I may go that route here shortly, though Ice Silver rocks as well, decisions decisions.

These are old pictures, but they sure beat the ones I have above. The present day status of my car doesn't look as good. Like I mentioned in other threads, I have been very neglectful and I now only have my stock wheels because the 18s got cracked by a pothole. I'll have new ones next year. Enjoy...

Thanks. I wish it still looked that clean. It actually looks like crap right now. I need new wheels and a new front and back bumper. Then a really good detail. I've neglected it. (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Djones, I think you make a very good case for debadging. I've always debated doing it, I think I might this season.

Funny you say that, I've been thinking about buying new door badges....
I took mine off cause they were peeling and discolored.
I haven't gotten new ones because I can't find the "dodge R/T" badges, only the "R/T" ones.

Trunk debadging on our cars is sexy....even better if you get the out of place keyhole removed and smoothed over. I hated that keyhole...so much that I paid $250 to eliminate it. (IMG:http://www.2gstratus.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

i know what you mean. i was going to do that as well, but decided to wait until i get my lambo hinges installed, then shave the handles and add the trunk key hole at the same time for the to-do list to keep it cost effective, labor and paint matching mostly. im sure you knwo this florida sun will fade up some paint, i keep mine clean as fuck and when i debaged mine i could still see a darker shade under those emblems. wax helps allot but you knwo what i mean. anyway until i decide on what to do, im gonna use that hole for a back up camera...

When I originally removed the badging on the trunk, even with the red you could see a very slight hint of the word "stratus" afterwards. Took care of that when I had it repainted after the keyhole removal. This sun is brutal, for sure...I may need to get my door handles repainted at some point soon as they are fading.

No amount of babying/waxing,etc. can save your car from this sun down here unless it stays a garage queen all it's life. She is garaged every night, but unfortunately I have to park outside all day while at work.

the thing is that aluminum got acidized and the paint and pigment (varnish) is partially gone... so at a closer view they don't really look that flawless

so some paint work will do some good for sure!

looking good DJ... the new rims are alright, and i think they would hella good if you ever decide to paint match them-that would be the shizzle. i need to get myself a shorty antenna too... where did you get it? and do they screw all the way down without a gap?

I won't paint match the wheels, I like the contrast between the black and the light wheels....anyway, the shorty was kind of a pain. the attachments that came with it were too long, so I had to buy a matching screw. Then I cut the head off it, and it fits fine.

I got it from autozone I think, or advance auto parts. It was only $10 or 15....
You can still screw it in because the antenna bottom is threaded, so is the antenna base on the car. It would not work with a regular screw. The antenna came with similar attachments. it's like a double sided screw.
