wow. a ported f/g enclosure.... good luck. i hope you have all your math and sketches drawn out, since ported boxes are not very forgiving when it comes to internal space or porting.

that was my whole reasoning for building my sealed box over a ported. granted a ported box will POUND, but they have to be built exactly right.

pics!

yyes i know they are cheaper subs and amps. but thats just for now till i can get the set up i want. i got it all brand new for $100 dollars i know they are not great but they will work for now. and yes it will be hard but we are doing it, one of my friends builds custome enclosures at his dads shop and he is doing all the math and shit and helping me do it all. and since i have never really done it he just said supply the meterials lol so it works.

Yeah what kind of subs/amps? That setup would be really really really loud if you ported the box. Are you inlaying the amps in the box? I'm assuming your going to need an extra battery or two, a big capacitor, and a HO alternator.

ok so they are two volfenhaug 15 inch subs. i am doing a ported box with a fiberglass shell over it so that it looks part of the car. the two xplore 1000 watt amps will be in the corners near the brake lightss with it all fiberglassed in. yes i am trying to go def lol but hey it works. sad thing is the way i have to let the subs sit but it will still look amazing i will post pics as soon as i can

ok so this weeknd i am starting my sub enclosure! i am doing a full fiberclass enclosure with 2 15 inch subs and two 1200 watt amps. its getting a little tricky with all the math and the small amount of space for the two subs and two amps. lol. but so far it is getting pretty nice, right now we are building the racks and doing all the wireing. next weekend we are doing all the fiber glasses and painting it should be nice i will post pics when i am done

You should come down to the meet off 6th and union in Lakewood on Sunday nights. Its every Sunday...starts about 630 and we all go on a big cruise downtown to the Denver skate park. Tonight there was a good 80 cars. No rice either. Supras, Evos, SRT-4s, STIs, RX7s, etc. A few guys from Club 3G come down too.

I think you'll run into a problem as the heads are taller which equals hitting the hood.

I know this because one of our members Theycallmebryan used a 3000gt 6g72 block, and had to use the SOHC heads, cause the DOHC heads didn't fit w/o hitting the hood.

Just FYI.

Honestly what are you exact plans. There are a lot of people that claim to do things (sorry I'm calling you out on this) that don't go through it.

see his problem is that he also tried to use the block the block on the 3000gt is bigger but the heads are not i am only using the heads everything mounts up and works perfectly all the sizings and the stroke/bore are almost exact only off by .0001 mm so it wont make a diffrence basically with my engine i am planning on doing a full light wieght performance rebiuld bored polished sleeved everything with a twin turbo set up and NOS pushing a total off about 42-46 pound of boost all stage 3 track parts that i will be using on the streets

Welcome to the site.

Question:
1. Why DOHC? What are you trying to achieve?

Eclipse front end has been done before. Honestly it looks horrible. It doesn't flow with the lines of the car. You would of been better off buying an eclipse instead. There are already after market hoods and body kits for the car.

and the reason for DOHC is because it will give me better hoarse and torque and it will handle the twin turbo set up i am doing basically it will be a much beafyer stealth or 3000gt VR4 it can put alot more power all in all it is a easy mount up system

WOW! first off man, do whatever you feel like doin to your car. if you don't, you may have regrets. if you do and you don't like it, well, you can always go back and change it and you might even learn a thing or two.

so, welcome to the site. lots of info here, but more importantly, why they call you cheech?

well thanks and they call me cheech because a fe years back my handle for computer games was cheechnchong and i was a big stoner the name stuck but not the drugs lol
